The Firetoys covered aerial rope is our premium corde lisse. They are made from a soft cotton rope sheathed in a super strong tubular cotton webbing for extra smoothness and comfort.
Covered aerial ropes are many professionals' choice for training and performance for a variety reasons. One of the first being that covered aerial ropes are kinder on your body than a 3-ply or a braided rope thanks to the soft cotton cover and consistent diameter. Covered ropes also have less bounce in them, making advanced moves in which you release from the rope completely possible, where a 3-ply would spring away from your grip. However, this lack of bounce does make drops less cushioned. The squishy feel of these ropes means that, although there is very little bounce, the ropes won't dig into you.
The squishier covered rope also allows you extra grip, and a better response from the rope, meaning your one arm hang, meathooks and dynamic moves will be more secure than ever.
These coloured rope covers are woven with pre dyed fibres, ensuring that their structure can't be damaged by the dyeing process, and they have a uniform colour finish.
These ropes have been tested by our aerialists for regular training and performances, and developed with the professional aerialist in mind.
These covered ropes are manufactured with a stainless steel eye for attachment at the top, protected by woven sleeving and finished with a high quality embroidered faux-leather boot.
For rigging, we recommend a larger opening carabiner such as the Petzl Vulcan Triact Lock Carabiner, or the Pear Shaped Maillon Rapide.
Through thorough destructive testing, we have assigned these covered ropes a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 250kg
