The 90mm crystal clear acrylic contact juggling balls are excellent for single ball manipulation, though they may be getting on the heavy side for absolute beginners. They're large size means they roll along your body well and look amazing when isolated.

Acrylic contact balls have grown in popularity over the years, and as a result there are now quite a few Chinese factories producing standard quality contact balls. These are the contact juggling balls most other retailers sell. We sell the standard quality balls here.

The Firetoys Crystal Clear acrylic balls have nothing to do with the cheaper Chinese balls, they are made in the EU, flawless and (as the name suggests) they are crystal clear! No wobbles, not bubbles, no scratches, no scuffs, just eye wateringly clean and smooth crystal clear acrylic.

In order to attain the clarity, these balls are not injection moulded like the bulk of contact juggling balls but ground down from an extruded rod of acrylic and then polished to a perfect finish.

Beware - many other suppliers now call their contact balls Crystal Clear but virtually all of them are standard quality.

Our acrylic is very strong so you'll be hard pressed to break a contact ball, but beware of rough surfaces as they can get scratched.

WHAT SIZE TO CHOOSE

Single Ball Contact Juggling - As a general rule, the smaller the contact ball, the smaller the contact surface area and therefore the harder it is to control. Similarly, the larger the ball, the easier it is to balance. So for single ball contact juggling a larger ball is generally preferred - anything from a 75mm ball upwards, depending on personal preference. However, some people find balls above 90mm too heavy.

Multi-Ball Contact Juggling: - If you are interested in manipulating any more than two balls, then the above rule is inversed: the smaller the ball, the easier it is to control multiples of them. We would recommend not going for anything larger than a 75mm ball, especially if you are just starting to learn multiball contact juggling. The 65mm and 70mm balls are the most popular for multi ball, but again, exactly what size to choose comes down to personal preference and the size of your hands.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON ACRYLIC SPHERES

Due to the perfect circular shape and clear nature of this acrylic, these contact balls can act as magnifying glasses and start fires. Never leave your balls in direct sunlight (eg: or on a window sill). WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND BUYING A PROTECTIVE BAG TO REDUCE THIS RISK AND TO KEEP YOUR ACRYLICS SCRATCH FREE. 

On the larger balls the high magnification levels mean that if you put your eye close up to the ball you may see a few very minor marks on the surface. However, these will not be visible or affect the illusion to you or your audience when viewed at a normal distance.
