Circus Photo Competition

Firetoys 2013 photo competition finished on the 3rd May 2013. The response was incredible with over 330 entries, all of which were fantastic, making choosing our five prize winners a very difficult task!

After compiling a short list and careful deliberation by the panel of judges, three runners up were selected, each winning a £10 voucher, then a second place photo who receives a £50 voucher and finally our overall winner who walks away with £250 to spend at Firetoys!

Don't worry if you didn't win this time, we will be running another competition in the not-too-distant future.

Runners Up

Congratulations to our three runners up. It was a close run thing!

  • First up we have Edward Gosling with a photo taken by Maximillian Webster of Lily Raptor at Secret Garden Party 2012. Both Edward and Lily are members of Chivaree Circus.

Second Place

Second place goes to this wonderful shot of Jean Benzino perfoming part of a tight four petal anti-spun flower with fire poi. We love how the lines and angles of his surroundings contrast with the curves of the flower and how the enclosed area captures and emphasises the colour of the flames.

First Place

Drum roll please...

First place in the Firetoys Photo Competition 2013 goes to... Johann Trépanier of Les Beaux Freres. We admired the skill of both Johann, the performer, and the photographer in capturing this image. The composition of the acrobatic move against the gleeming towers behind is superb. And perhaps the best thing about this photo... Johann's exuberant expression!
