My Aerial Home are good pals of ours. They host the rigging courses our staff attend and they run a whole array of weekly aerial and ground based circus classes in South London.
They also run intensive courses like the Creating Circus course coming up at the end of August this year.
Creating Circus is an intensive week – five full days – of skills based classes, workshops and play, Creating Circus focuses on training and creation, inspiring participants to produce their own routines and develop a performance piece.
If you’re looking to create your own aerial act or tap into your artistic potential then Creating Circus is for you.
Whether in the field of circus, dance and physical theatre, Creating Circus offers a fabulous opportunity to improve and revive existing skills and to create the beginnings of a new work. In a supportive and fun learning environment, participants will develop aerial and circus skills across a range of disciplines, under the tutelage of professional performers, directors and choreographers, and will be encouraged to create their own act, which they will showcase, as a work in progress, on the last day of the course.
What to expect from each day:
Morning sessions offer skills-based classes, taught by MAH teachers and guest teachers – with moves, skills and ideas that can be used in the afternoon workshops.
Afternoon sessions bring fun and creative workshops. This year’s workshops are still to be confirmed, previous years workshops have included: performance, choreography, staging, character and practical production.
The final afternoon of the week will see a scratch cabaret of all works in progress.
Places are limited – so register your interest early to avoid disappointment. For further information and to book contact Amanda on 020 8464 9939 or see My Aerial Home's website.
