The Irish Aerial Creation Centre (IACC) presents a three-week intensive aerial dance training course aimed at professionals and semi-professionals. The Creative Intensive course is help in Limerick, Ireland, from 22nd November to 12th December 2015.
The Creative Intensive course is for both aerialists who are wanting to improve their technique and to produce aerial acts but also for dancers who want to get more aerial training and create an aerial dance solo.
The course is taught by professional tutors from Fidget Feet and the New England Centre for Circus Arts. It will offer training in vertical (e.g. silks) and horizontal (e.g. trapeze) aerial arts, vertical dance, acrobatic class, contemporary dance class, injury prevention, posture analysis, stretching & strengthening, a creative lab, one-to-one coaching from the three tutors, conditioning and rigging basics. The course can cater for solo, duo and group aerial acts but the attendees must bring their own equipment.
Included in the course will be talks and information on selling acts, budgets and insurance. There will also be a show (free to attend) at the end of the course. This show will give the performers a chance to work with professional riggers, sound and lighting technicians, make up artists and costumes.
A limited number of bursaries are available for Irish nationals.
