Product details

This RGB version is an evolution of the K8 Intel LED ball. These balls combine red, green and blue LEDs in one ball, giving you an amazing range of colours and functions to choose from.

K8 have decided to decrease the size of their glow balls from 76mm to 66mm making them easier to catch as well as brighter than their larger predecessors.

By inserting and removing the charging pin you can access the different effects. If left with the pins inserted the clubs will start up in their previous setting.

Functions:

- Demonstration: rolls through all effects
- Single colours: red, green, blue, yellow, sky blue, pink, white
- Slow fade through all colours
- Fast fade through all colours
- Alternate through all colours
- Pulse all colours
- Accelerate alternate through all colours
- Strobe alternating all colours
- Alternating/fading

The charging time of these balls is about eight to ten hours and will give you around three hours of play time, depending on the mode used.

Superb balls, but not enough setting control Review by Chris , 07/03/2012

Value

I got these balls to replace some broken old areotech proballs. First impression is excellent - the balls have a very slight amount of give but still work perfectly for contact moves, and they are BRIGHT - brighter than the proballs used to be, they can illuminate a room!

The fade settings are nice to get the full RGB effect, and all of the colours look great individually. My gripes come from the different settings available though. I can't choose two colours to cycle between - my favourite settings with the proballs was a ball each on red/white green/white blue/white and there is no way to replicate this will the K8s. Also, I cannot strobe on a single colour.

Finally, having to cycle through every effect to get to the 'off' setting gets tedious, especially when you go past it and have to start again. Maybe a menu system with categories (again more like the proballs) would be a good idea?

Having said all that though, they are still the best balls around for the money and I would not hesitate to buy them again, I just hope that in the next version they improve the 'brain' inside the ball!
