Juggling rings are harder to juggle than balls but easier to juggle than clubs. They also create a big visual impact thanks to their size and shape and a lot of effects unique to rings can be created with them. These are some of the reasons why rings are a very popular prop to juggle. We stock a range of sizes and colours including reverso and holographic juggling rings for stage shows and LED glow rings for night time performances.
Rings are generally given a spin when juggled and this helps to keep them in the same plane throughout the throw. Interesting patterns can be created by juggling one ring with the thin side towards the audience and one of the others with the ring’s face towards the crowd. You can also “pancake flip” juggling rings for another visual effect that is particularly eye catching with two colour rings.
Other tricks unique to rings are catching and cradling a spinning ring in another stationary one and the “pull down”, often used at the end of big tricks or a routine, where the rings are placed over the head and hung around the neck one by one.
Rings are often used by numbers jugglers as they are lightweight, thin and relatively easy to catch. The world record for flashing rings (each ring thrown and caught once) is 13, which equals the world record for balls.
