Body Armour

Having the right safety equipment is important for many circus skills, especially when learning. Stilts, slacklines, walking globes, balance ladders, unicycles and even rolla bollas all warrant some sort of body armour. If you’re riding a scooter, skateboard or roller blades then you should also be wearing safety equipment like a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards. These items help to protect you from serious injury with a helmet being the most important.

Helmets obviously protect your noggin from getting hurt. These are the most essential pieces of body armour as the most serious injuries are caused by impacts to the head. If you’re riding a skateboard, scooter of unicycle a helmet is a must. The helmets we stock are also suitable for bike riding, snowboarding, skiing and other extreme sports.

Elbow and knee pads can save you from nasty bruises, grazes and broken bones. These are especially good if you’re practising on hard, rough ground like concrete or riding in the skate park. Elbow and knee protectors are also advisable if you’re stilt walking.

Wrists guards can help to avoid sprains and broken bones in your wrist. Even better than this is learning to fall properly, joining a Judo class will help you learn this skill. Wrist guards are popular in all extreme sports, particularly snowboarding, especially for beginners.

We also stock back protectors and impact shorts to protect your spine and coccyx from injury. Again, these are common in all boards sports and recommended if you’re going to be hitting big jumps.
