Staff Media

Learn to spin a fire staff with our range of books and DVDs on the subject. We have media containing tutorials and lessons on how to twirl a staff in the traditional way, i.e. using your hands, but also instruction on how to do contact staff (not using your hands) and how to spin double fire staves too. Your teachers include famous names like MCP (Meghan Claire Pike), Fire Groove and the Vulcan Crew.

If you don’t know anyone to teach you staff spinning and you can’t make it to events that feature workshops on staff twirling like Southern Lights, Play, Fire Drums, Kinetic Fire or other spinning and juggling conventions, then learning from one of these media is the next best thing.

Bek and Elke have a nice little hand drawn booklet that will teach you the basics. Jonathan Reynolds offers a more comprehensive staff spinning book that flirts with contact and doubles too, while Fire Groove have produced a DVD that covers a similar range of staff tricks.

If you want to learn contact fire staff tricks or just improve your contact staff spinning then both MCP and the Vulcan Crew have great tutorial DVDs out for this very purpose. MCP’s ‘Staff Manipulation’ also has some chapters on normal staff twirling and both DVDs feature inspirational videos from famous spinners like Meast, Kyle McLean, Sebastien Berger and Sandy McClure.

MCP has also released the only double staff tutorial DVD available anywhere (as far as we know) which will teach you the basics right through to advanced geometrical patterns.
