If you want to learn how to get a devilstick or flowerstick started – the very basic beginner moves – then the Mr Babache Devilstick or the Step by Step Devilstick booklets are cheap but effective resources for beginners. These booklets not only teach the basics but go on to provide instruction on several more advanced tricks and routines. Both are illustrated with clear cartoon-style diagrams.

Chris Dore and Todd Strong have both written comprehensive books on devilsticking. These books contain the basics but also teach intermediate and advanced devilstick tricks as well as providing insight into this prop’s history, terminology and variations. Of course, all these tricks can be performed with a flowerstick too.

We also stock a couple of flower stick DVDs that are suitable for beginners and more advanced flowerstick players. While these focus on flower sticks most of the tricks can be performed with a devil stick as well.
